HARVEST PAPAYA

PAPAYA (Carica papaya) or known as Betik in bahasa Malaysia are popular commodities in Malaysia s an export fruit to China, Hong Kong and Middle East. Total area of planted papaya in Malaysia in 2011 with total production of 52,430 metric ton. Concentrated area of papaya growing area are in Perak, pahang, Kedah and Northern Johor. Among popular papaya varieties grown are Betik Sekaki, Betik Eksotika 2, Betik Subang, Betik Piola (MAFC Premium  varieties). From my own farm experience in papaya farm at TKPM especially on harvesting are really enjoyable ! 

Matured papaya tree are less fruit count on the middle due
to draught and lack of organic matter at TKPM Sekijang, Segamat. 

'Betk Eksotika2' ready for fresh market which is very sweet up to
16 degrees Brix meter upon harvesting.
