MALAYSIA is a tropical country with fertile soil and hugh amount of sunlight all year round. This condition with heavy rainfall annually provide suitable condition to grow vegetables. There are 41,000 hectare of tropical vegetables grown in Malaysia in 2010 producing about 495,000 mt of fresh vegetables. There about 22 popular vegetables grown by commercial farmers for domestic and export market. There are 9 types of Fruit Vegetables, 10 types of Leafy Vegetables and 3 types of tubers.
